Jesus Run Event Raises Awareness of LFC's Mission

LFC’s participation in the Jesus Run 2001 held on August 16th created a new opportunity the community to learn more about our music and our mission. Although our decision to participate came after the window of opportunity to raise money as runners from across the nation had already made pledges to other non-profit causes, we still benefited by obtaining exposure and playing our role with our presence in the Christian event where we maintained a booth at the conference center and at Clement Park near Columbine High School where the event was topped off with a concert featuring national Christian artists Anointed, The Katinas, and Rebecca St. James.

Vocalist Shauna Chanda, a longtime LFC supporter who invited us to participate in Café Estes at the 2001 Seminar in the Rockies, opened for Rebecca St. James with a spirited performance of some of her songs from her recently released CD, "Only Believe".

"It was a great chance to see some of my favorite Christian artists while doing something much needed for our project and for the Columbine community and beyond," says Nina Tamburello, daughter of founder Michael Tamburello who is an avid St, James fan. LFC’s Aaron Delay was also on hand at both of our booths to tour people through our websites from a laptop. Board member Linda Arnold was also there to share her photos and her experiences with Columbine and answer questions about our projects progress.

Nina Tamburello and teen volunteer, Kayley Arvizu, also spent time at our booths chatting and reaching out to other teens with their faith.

"It was really awesome to be a part of this event", says Nina, a Rebecca St. James fan, "and to share a booth with Rebecca's people was a real honor!"

We thank Rob Sigmon and his staff for making arrangements for getting us on board at the eleventh hour with this great event. We believe it is a
wonderful Christian outreach to our community and were proud to be a part of it along with K-LOVE and their many other fine sponsors. As advertising has already begun for the 2002 Jesus Run, we are reviewing the possibilities for an even more fruitful participation.

People interested in running for the event can contact the Jesus Run race headquarters at 1-888-713-5700 or visit their contact page online. If you are interested in running for LFC, contact us at Crossing the Finish Line for a Columbine.
